چکیده
Citrus essential oils (EOs) are widely used as flavoring agents in food, pharmaceutical, cosmetical and chemical industries. For this reason, their demand is constantly increasing all over the world. Besides industrial applications, abundance of EOs epicarp particularly relevant for quality citrus fruit. In fact, these compounds represent a natural protection against postharvest deteriorations due to remarkable antimicrobial, insecticidal antioxidant activities. Several factors, including genotype, climatic conditions cultural practices, can influence assortment accumulation peels. This review focused on factors influencing variation EOs’ composition during ripening implications

In order to evaluating of effect of antibiotics and essential oils on the vase life and quality characteristics of chrysanthemum cut flower an experiment carried out based on a RCD with 10 treatments: Artemisia at 3 levels (10, 30 and 50 %), amoxicillin at 3 levels (100, 200 and 300 mg l-1), Ri...
متن کاملCitrus Essential Oils: Extraction and Deterpenation
The essential oils of citrus fruits are valuable raw materials in the scent and flavouring industries. As extracted, they are complex mixtures with large proportions of terpene hydrocarbons that make them easily oxidizable and insoluble in aqueous and alcoholic solutions. This mini-review surveys the main processes by which these essential oils are currently extracted and deterpenated, and also...
متن کاملMelatonin promotes ripening and improves quality of tomato fruit during postharvest life
In this study, the effect of melatonin on the postharvest ripening and quality improvement of tomato fruit was carried out. The tomatoes were immersed in exogenous melatonin for 2h, and then the related physiological indicators and the expression of genes during post-harvest life were evaluated. Compared with control check (CK), the 50 µM melatonin treatment significantly increased lycopene lev...
متن کاملControl of postharvest decay of citrus fruit with calcium polysulfide
Incidence of green mold of citrus, caused by Penicillium digitatum, was reduced by 80% or more by the immersion of lemons or oranges for 1–4 min in warm (40.6–43.3°C) ‘liquid lime-sulfur’ (LLS) solution that contained 0.75% (wt vol) calcium polysulfide. The incidence of sour rot, caused by Geotrichum citri-aurantii, was reduced 35–70% by this treatment. LLS was similar in effectiveness to other...
متن کاملChemical Identifications of Citrus Peels Essential Oils
ABSTRACT: Due to the importance of essential oils and their use in various industries, the essential oils of four types of citrus consisting of orange (C. sinesis), tangerine (C. reticulate), sweet lemon (C. limetta) and sour lemon (C. limon) were extracted and subjected to chemical analysis to identify and evaluate the chemical constituents of the oils. The average essential oils of orange, ta...
